Music: Rain Don't Last by @theartisthope
I have a special love for artists that are hidden gems out there, you know there are many great ones all over the world just pouring love into their body of work but not getting the shine. It's pretty much a hobby for me to go out and listen to different artists music or to search whatever mood I'm in and see what pops up. If my memory serves me correctly I was on soundcloud searching hashtags and came across Hope after searching #inspiration. I sure am happy I found her!
The first song I saw was "The Rain Don't Last" which stood out to me for some reason so I had to listen to it. When the song first starts and she is humming her melodies you already feel the need to close your eyes and wrap your arms around yourself. Then her voice comes in, such a beautiful and comforting voice that is singing some very relate able and truthful lyrics. I am a lover of music and lyrics mean so much to me, I mean I am a writer ;) but these lyrics, man, it seems as if she got hold of one of my notebooks and wrote these lyrics. I wanted to quote my favorite part however it was impossible to do so, so instead I just copied all of the lyrics below. She starts off with a very good question, "could it be the world is getting colder?" followed by the thought "maybe I'm a losing soul" - which I am sure many of us have felt before, as if our break will never come. This song means so much to me right now, I feel every single word from the depths of my heart. It really feels as if the rain has been pouring for a very very long time but the smallest bit of faith allows one to say "you gotta let it go" keep it moving, keep being great. At least that is how I look at it.Hope has many other great tracks that you can check out by visiting her soundcloud but I felt this was the one that needed to be shared!
